Chaucer’s Game, Oxford, 30 April 2019

Event Date:

30th April 2019

Event Time:

10:00 am

Event Location:

Waterstones , Oxford

Many hundreds of years ago, Geoffrey Chaucer wrote about a group of people who went on a journey…

The Canterbury Tales involved all sorts of individuals, pilgrims walking to a site of special interest to them (a shrine).

We never find out what happens there, or even if they reach their destination.

But we do get to hear their stories – stories they tell to pass the time, and as a (mostly) good-natured competition. The person who tells the best story gets a prize.

You too could win a prize, if you come and play Chaucer’s Game with us.

We’ll be walking a shorter distance, over a period of hours, not days.

On this particular occasion, we’ll be walking around Oxford, with destinations that are sacred to storytellers.

On the way, you will learn techniques that can improve your impromptu storytelling, and also improve stories you want to plan and work up over a longer period.

More importantly, you’ll get exercise, and good company.

Please come. We’d love to have you with us.
